Though he was wealthy, people despised him because tax collectors worked for the Romans and were known to collect extra money for themselves. But Zacchaeus had a deep desire — he wanted to see Jesus . Being short, he climbed up a sycamore tree just to get a glimpse of Him. When Jesus reached that place, He looked up and said, “Zacchaeus, come down immediately.
